TMNT Onsie | how to

You have noticed, but I love themes! I knew someone who wanted to have a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle first birthday party so I made this onsie for the birthday boy. It would be a cute Halloween costume too!

It was really easy to make.

I couldn't find a solid green onsie. So I bought a pack of white ones and some Rit dye. I also used freezer paper and my circuit.

I dyed the onsie green. It only took about 5 minutes. I followed the directions from the bottle. Let it dry overnight.

I cut the front and the back designs with my cricut. The onsie is a 12 mo onsie and the cut outs fit is perfectly. If

You could do it by hand also. You cut the design from freezer paper. Place the freezer paper shiny side down and iron the paper to the onsie. This is the classic freezer paper method.

I put a piece of cardboard covered in plastic wrap inside the onsie to protect the paint from bleed through and dabbed the paint on. I read that if you water the paint down it keeps it from being so stiff. So I tried that and it seemed to work pretty well.

I decided once the freezer paper was off to not use the puff paint and outline the stencil.

It came out really cute. It fit him perfect.

I loved TMNT growing up so it was fun helping with this party. Watch for a few other things we did.
